Rattling from inside of snake?!

Hello, I'm a new snake owner (since 2 weeks). Every time I handle our young snake (about 17 inch in length), even though it appears curious, lively and at the same time not really stressed or anything, I feel these vibrations sometimes as she slides around my fingers. These vibrations remind me of rattling, only that they come from the inside of her body. What is this?

Mind you, I've never handled a snake before, so I don't know what this is or what a snake should feel like.

Corns make that kind of vibrating movement as a sort of alarm response - you might find that it's being caused by her rattling her tail. They can also move jerkily and in a new snake, that's done for the same reason.

You'll probably find that it gradually eases off as she gets used to you. At the moment it sounds like she's frightened by being picked up and is trying to warn you off - that's pretty normal for a new arrival, which won't realise that you don't want it for dinner! She'll learn that you're OK over the next few weeks.

I always thought it was gas. I feel it usually when handling mine, and felt a lot of it just before getting pooped on. :(
