re-introducing my corn

Dead0n-Arrival

New member
we moved to a new house august 2011 and the only place we had to put my corn snakes tank was in this bulit in entertainment cupboard in the wall.

having done this it is hard to access him so we can interact with eachother as we did normally before we moved. the last 7 months i have not handled him/her at all because he/she is hard to get out of the cage seeing as where it sits.

i was wondering what the best way to re-introduce him/her to human contact?

Just very patiently and slowly. If the snake shies away when you go to get it out, very gently insist and pick it up anyway. Don't put it down immediately if it starts wriggling. It needs to know that being held by you is safe.

You never know - it could be that you have no problems at all. I don't handle mine apart from taking them out of their vivs to feed and clean (presumably you've at least had your snake out to clean the tank in the last 7 months!) and their behaviour towards me hasn't changed. The ones that were always fine with being picked up, still are.

yes i have taken him out to clean him tank. he gets very shy whenever anybody goes near his tank now even me and he really does not like to be handled. thanks for the help :)
