Actually it's not. That "Kritter Keeper" cage looks like a pretty big one. I keep all my hatchlings in cages that are approx 12"x6"x4". That cage looks comparable, if not bigger. He can stay in that at least until he's 6 months old, if not longer, so he wouldn't need a cage between now and when the final cage is built.
lol that doesn't help at all, we use inches to measure our tanks :shrugs: My dad has already built the glass part, and it's a hexagon shape now so bodget'll have to get his arse in gear and knock up the base etc. So we'll keep Bob in the small tank 'til then (if he ever comes out again, looks like he's going to shed and he's been in a strop the last few days hiding under his log ha ha).
I'm getting concerned to move Bob out a bit quicker as we've had him nearly a month now and it's difficult to control the temp in the plastic tank - it's only about 71 on the hot side and not much lower on the cool side - he always seems to be under the log right over the heat mat (which is doing a pretty crappy job at the mo). It's a bit impossible to get a gradient and even control the temp in this basic set up. I feel that moving him up will at least give us the chance to pop a lamp and thermostat (dimmer) in to try and get some sort of regulation......
