Really, really stupid question.

Is it safe to include any kind of water feature in the snake's viv?

I was shopping around just now for decorations for my vivarium and came across an "exo terra waterfall." Basically like a large rock which makes a waterfall in the tank.

I thought that would be so pretty to include (I like a tank that is visually pleasing...) but would this be harmful to the snake?

Sorry for the stupid question.

They are fine although not necessary. I think there is a bit of worry about increased humidity but Nothing to worry about. They are expensive though. If I had the money I might buy one .

A large bowl is all that is needed though.

Oh, would increaed humidity be harmful to a corn?

I don't need a waterfall by any means, I just thought one would be nice. :p

I have the waterfall in my anole tank. It works great. The only problem I could see with a snake is with the cord coming into the tank. It causes the corner of the screen lid to be open slightly. This could provide an opportunity for the snake to get out. It is not a problem with the anoles because they are a little bigger but a hatchling maybe able to get out.

I'm not sure if these waterfalls do require a cord or not, they probably do, but I'm not sure.
But if I can get one in my tank without creating an escape oppertunity for the corn I may well consider buying one.
Thanks for your help.

They do require a cord. I am not sure about the vibration but they do tend to be a little loud. Especially when the water gets a little low.

Would the vibration from the motor pumping the water be any concerns here?

Yeah, seems like the whole idea is an invitation to possible stress. Plenty of other ways to spruce up a viv. :)

Well i have a lid on my tank that has little holes for cords in it. but my boas to big to get out. i'm hoping keep his 20 gal for when spur gets bigger. Then cover it to make sure the snake doesn't get out. I think this is fine right? and it gives him a climbing "vine" lol

waterfalls work great, i have one and i use a fogger with it my snake really seems to enjoy it. also helps keep the humidity levels up a little. They also make for some cool looks.

The water fall is fine, jst place it on the opposite side of their spot (favorite hide) & on the cool side so to not bring up humidity, the hum. should be around 40-50%. And if it does affect yur snake badly jst stop using it and yur snake will hav a new hide, a very expensive one lol
