Hi Everyone
I am really worried about my friends corn. He is six months old and hasn't shed properly.
Over a month ago he shed but there was an inch left on his tail, she has tried everything to help him but since then he has shed again and the same thing has happened again.
I suggested she should should take him to the vet as it is obvious it will now stop his circulation.
Will the vet be able to do anything for him? or is it too late?

I would have taken him before now if it was my snake but i think my friend thinks it will sort its self out, I'm worried

The most important thing is to get the shed off of the tail. It's possible that it will only stunt the growth with two sheds but if it goes any longer it spells bad news. She can try and help the snake herself by letting it run through damp paper towels or a washcloth. She might have to help her snake because of the fact that it's old shed. If it comes to this hold gently and allow the snake to slide through pulling the skin off on its own accord (make sure that it is good and damp). Whatever you do - do not force the shed off. You can pull good scales off and damage your snake more in the process. Bringing him to a vet is always an option but hopefully she'd be able to do it herself. Maybe using the search feature and then finding ideas as to why it's shedding badly would also help. Whatever husbandry problem isn't going to go away on it's own and the snake will keep having bad sheds.
