Howdy Folks!
What an interesting thread. Well my second cousin is Barbara Mandrell (and her sisters of course). I've never met her, but she is supposed to be super nice. And my great-great (great?) Aunt is Carrie Nation, the crazy axe wielder who went around chopping up stills and bars during prohibition. The family thought she was bonkers. Also my Grandmother was the girlfriend of some mobster-type in southern Illinois. They hung him in the town square in Benton (where she lived), I think.

A grandfather of mine, I believe 7 generations removed, was Mathias Dowerman, a steamboat captain and shipbuilder. His most famous ship built was the Robert E. Lee, and the home he built in New Albany, IN (right across the Ohio River from Louisville, KY) is now a Bed & Breakfast.

Then of course, there's my cousin, Martin Blank. There was a documentary film about him about 10 years ago. :grin01:

regards,
jazz

My only claim to fame as it were, is being 2nd cousin to Jamie Hyneman from the Discovery Channel's "Myth Busters".

Never met him in person, but he's a really nice guy through e-mails. Even looks a slight bit like me...no, I'm not bald or have a goatee. ;)

We usually go but we didn't get the chance last year :( Very cool!. Did they have croc's when you went, in some small room with one glass wall so you could see in??
You mean the "salties?" Yeah. In fact, the 16 ft. one was eyeballing me and it made me really nervous.
