Rearranging tank bad idea?

Whenever I clean my snake's reptile carpet I tend to rearrange his objects (water bowls, plastic plants, driftwood, cardboard box, tubes, etc.). He is about 50 cm long, slim and has an approximately 75 gallon tank. I always keep the heat and sun lamp in the same locations.

I'm wondering if the weekly rearrangement is potentially stressful for the snake? He eats, poops, sheds, and otherwise seems happy.

In my experience, it depends on the individual Corn. I have one (my old-timer) who can't bear any sort of change. If I put his water bowl in a different place in his tank, I risk him refusing a feed. He even seems to get stressed by me disinfecting his hides etc., even when they go back in exactly the same spot.

However, I do think he's just a plain ol' weirdo! The rest of mine don't sem to give two hoots about their gear shuffling about. They cruise around a bit more than usual, but they settle again pretty fast and none of them will turn their nose up at food.

If your rearrangements aren't causing any functional problem for your chap, then I don't see why you shouldn't carry on.

Yes it is a big home for him! One half is rather cool (19 Celsius) and empty generally not used. I am anticipating Ponyboy getting larger.

Thanks for the input!

Hey, if you have the space to give him a big tank like that, that's great! I'm sure he appreciates it.

As far as the rearranging goes, my snakes tend to rearrange everything I put in there on their own. LOL. I do rearrange my large vivs every now and then, and it doesn't seem to stress my guys out.
