So, quick question and excuse me if it seems silly, perhaps i am over reacting, and perhaps i am not. My girl has not been herself lately and by that i mean this: The feed before last, i noticed she had not pooped on her normal time frame after a feed, in fact i had to assist in this process, and by this i mean i tried the bath. She swam around happy as hell, and pooped successfully! Here is when i thought, perhaps it was a bad mouse, maybe the batch at the reptile store was not like the last. As soon as this occurred she went into shed, typical time frame for that, shed beautifully. Back to normal i thought..fed her a few days after that, she ate as good as normal. Usually, when i return her back to her home after a nice meal she goes into her hide where she will reside for a day or so before she poops. Now here is the problem in which i am growing concerned, she hardly moved at all from that spot. I gave it a week to the day and nothing, no poop no movement. I panicked and picked her up and bathed her, again (for the record she loves the bath) where she pooped.
Am i over reacting on the poop thing? Did i not give it enough time? She hasn't been to active since then, I'm sitting with her now as i write this, and she is very calm where prior she would have been moving all over never sitting still. Even in her home, she will switch sides in the duration of the day, but has of late been staying in one spot. Do snakes get into "moods"? I can't freak myself out and assume she is sick, she's drinking water, eating eyes look good, scales, etc..is it possible i am doing something wrong? I have not changed anything in terms of feed schedule, mice, temps..

i adopted her a year ago from a friend who had her for 5 years. A little advice would be great. Sorry if my post is all over the place, i am a little worried to be honest, i don't want anything to happen, she is quite frankly the best decision I've ever made in my life.:eatpointe

thanks all--

I think you are worrying too much. Corn snakes, especially adults, can go quite a while without pooping. Some poop pretty quickly after a meal and others hold onto it for a while. As long as she's eating and drinking and doesn't look constipated (a big bulge right by her vent), I'm sure she will poop when she feels the need.

Is it possible that she's gravid? Some female corns lay eggs without being bred.

Could she be developing a preference for pooping in water, maybe? Not very fun to clean, I know, but there may be a pattern there. What size is her water dish (or dishes) currently?
