Red light

I have been using a zoo med nightlight red reptile bulb for both heat and light. I have been using it for almost a year and someone recently told me that they are no good for the snakes vision. Is this true. I have had no problems so far and my snake seems to be fine. Thanks for any advice

They aren't good or bad for a snakes vision. I think maybe the person who told you that was confusing them with a UV bulb? Those have been known to cause problems with corns eyes on rare occasion. As long as the red light at night doesn't disturb you then everything should be pretty good.
