Refusing to eat.

Punkatized

Snake Princess
Our regular corn is refusing to eat. Heres the history, he threw up the 8th of this month and we left him alone for the normal 10 days on the 16th we gave him one. We didnt want to give him 2 because of him throwing up. Ok, well, we've tried to feed him again about...4-5 days after he ate...nothing, he refuses...he seemed hyper so we just left him alone that day, When we tried to feed him again about..a day later...nothing...again. So, now we let him be untill today, he was a very healthy eater before so, we figured he'd deff. be ready to eat by today...we even put chicken broth on it. NOPE! Just strayed away and refused it. He's getting pretty skinney and that is the only reason im worried about him. The only thing we can think of is MAYBE he doesnt like the new pinkies we got. We ordered them offline to save money. I dont know...Any suggestions or comments or anything? lol

The first thing to figure out is why he regurged in the first place. If it was something having to do with the setup, then that may lead you to why he's not eating now. How are your temps? Plenty of hiding places? Any other sources of stress visible? Cohabbing the two snakes (which could be stressful)?

If he was eating and then stopped after you got your pinkys from a new source, I would at least try to get one from where you were getting them before if possible and try to feed him that.

Also, how long are you leaving him alone with the pinky when trying to feed him?

I really dont know why he regurged. Temp might have droped over night or something. It normally does alittle bit. Not by much though. Right now the temp normally stays around 80 and 85. It cant be that though because my other snake on the other side of the tank is doing perfectly, he's been eating on time all the time and growing like a weed (there is a seperator between them). So, I really dont know. I'm just going to try leaving him alone alittle longer. He is worrying me though, he's getting kind of limp. =(

I was thinking about doing that. Probably will Thursday or something. But, I guess I should leave him alone for a couple days. :shrugs:

OH! And I deff. have enough hiding spots for him...Thats all he stays under...I have on half toilet paper roll and two whole ones, than theres a climbing log...so, i think that would be enough right??

another factor is stress, vibrations are how he knows there is danger (in the wild), but its not like he knows any different. tv, stereo, excess traffic, etc.. are other things to consider. you may think he's left alone, but your snake might not feel that way. good luck
