I've just tried to rep someone with zero points on their profile, but got the "You have to spread it around before giving rep to this person again" message.

Surely if I'd repped them successfully, they'd have rep points showing?
 
From what I understand, the person that has zero rep points, need to achieve a certain amount of posts and rep points, before it begins to accumulate.

I think they have to have a minimum number of posts or similar before rep points show - do they have more than one green box under their name now though?
 
They have 81 posts and five dark green/six light green boxes under their name (same as everyone else as far as I can see). Maybe they've not hit the post limit yet then.

It worked when I just repped you!

I do believe rep starts showing when 100 posts are reached.
