Smells Like a Rat
My guinea pig died last night. He was pushing 6, so he lived a long life. He did not seem to suffer, as just a few hours before he passed he took an apple slice with his usual gusto. My mom found him around 7pm under his water bottle, with his teeth hooked on the cage wires, as if he went to drink but collapsed. She freed him, and he sighed and laid down. By 8pm he was gone.

RIP Hamlet

RIP Hamlet! I am glad it was not a long or painful transition, and that he had a long life with you, but I know it's hard to say goodbye to a beloved animal. ((Emily))

What a gorgeous little Piggie! Sorry for your loss, I know its tough to loss even the smallest of critters...my thoughts are with you! :(

Thank you all so much. He got a proper burial in the yard. My mom very kindly cleaned and put away his cage so I wouldn't have to deal with it.

I will miss taking him outside for grass this summer. :(

My darling mother flushed the hamsters we had that died from getting into the heating system at home...

mind you she has the sensitivity of a wookie with a hangover *sigh*

Kudos to you though, for giving him a good life and a loving home :)
