SMR SG Corn Snake "Rogue"
Gave it a while.. Still not enjoying him as much as I hoped. I'm either planing on a raffle for him and his viv or selling him outright for a good price. I paid 500 for the whole setup so I figure 200 less is about right to a good home and to get him out of my hair. He needs a good home with someone who cares for snakes. I really don't enjoy him at all when he's out and I'm still not handling him like i'd have liked to. I guess some people just aren't ment to keep reptiles. The good thing is I'm still making sure he's safe and healthy but I just don't like snakes like I thought I would. Pretty boring to come home and see nothing but a viv and nothing in it day in and out.

Anyways if anyone knows of anyone looking for a sunglow who is 24'' long please let me know :bang: :boring:
 
So glad to see you are doing the right thing. So many people buy an animal realise it isnt for them and then just leave the poor thing without proper care and attention. I wish more people were like you. :cheers:
 
If I may ask, why is it you are not seeing eye to eye? Is he snappy that you are not enjoying him? Because corns out grow this. They also usually outgrow the need to be in the hide all the time... :)

But well done for deciding to do the responsible thing if snakes are not for you! :) Nice to see a responsible pet owner! :)
 
just not into him and I always have to buy him food every damn week because keeping frozen stinks literally.. That means gas that I don't have. My apartment smells funny. All in all just a real let down. I keep his viv clean but still lots of smell.. Hopefully I can find him a good home with someone who will enjoy him. I DONT. :(
 
Oh I see...

Corns (like all animals I guess) do have their own unique smell. I suppose you can either live with this or you can't, personally, it doesn't bug me at all.

Strange that frozens smell, they shouldn't...

But anyway, sounds like you are doing the right thing.
 
I'm sorry to hear this once again. It still hasn't been that long since you got him...you can't expect miracles over night.

As i mentioned in a prior thread Glock, put a listing in your local Craigslist and put an ad in the local free classifieds newspapers. The sooner he finds a home where he will be completely cared for the better.

I dont know what you expected from a snake. They dont do flips, or greet you with sounds as you walk through the door, and the younger ones are unsure and hide often so they dont beg for attention either. Yet to many of us they are amazing animals and a joy to keep. It is all in what the focus of the keeper is I guess.

No pet is the perfect pet for everybody, but there are many people who would appreciate coming home to Rogue every day and I hope you find one soon to take him.

I've already deleted one of your attempts to skirt the rules of this site by posting a not-so-thinly-veiled sales ad when you're not a contributor. I'll admit that you've done a better job of obscuring your intent with this one, but it's still fairly apparent. I'll lock this one instead of deleting it, but I don't want to see another one.
