Rookie From Terre Haute, IN

Hello, I am a rookie snake owner from Terre Haute. I actually do not yet have a corn snake, but I am doing research right now on what I want. My son and I have a bearded dragon right now. My son is 8 and is absolutely crazy about reptiles. We make a trip to the local pet stores about once a week, so he can handle the snakes. His mother talked him into the beardie, when he was talking about getting a snake, but that didnt seem to satisfy him. I have aslo always wanted a snake too, so we are still wanting to get one. Is there anyone in the Terre haute are, or in the Indiana area? I dont want to get one at Petco. They dont seem to have much variety, and I would like to ask some questions in case we decide to get into breeding at some point. People at Petco are clueless. I look forward to learning from all of you in the future. I have already learned a lot from reading other posts.

Thanks
Tim

Welcome to the forum!!!

We've got a beardie too and he's great -- but not great enough to keep me from having corns also!!! LOL.

I'm clueless about your area, so I can't help there. BUT, I'm sure there's someone on here that might be able to help you out.

Good luck and let us know when you get your corn! We'd love to see pics (of the beardie too - but on the "Chit-Chat" section. LOL!).

Welcome to the forum! I'm not sure who is in your area either, but we have several members on here who ship... although its getting a little cold for that :(

You might want to check for shows in your general area. They can be a good source for someone not picky about their first one :)

I know there are some nice shows in Indy, you might wanna check those out.
Google reptile shows or expos in your area. It might be a little bit of a drive, but it'll be well worth it once you find your baby.
Welcome to the forum!
I'm sure you'll love it here. :p

Hey Welcome to CS.com I am a former Hoosier living in MN now.

But the best person for you in IN is Naptown Reptiles, aka Rich. He doesn't own a pet store in Indy but he is your best bet for variety of morphs in your state.

Do a search on his name and shoot him a pm. :) Try clicking on his name as well. I think I did the linking right. Tell him I sent ya. ;)

Thanks

Thanks all for your welcome and advice. I will try Rich. I guess I am trying to not deal with shipping. I am not home alot during the day, and it is way to cold in Indiana this time of year.
Thanks
Tim
