Ah, I'm on nights at the moment, and didn't want to risk having another escapee! If DM's cooperative I'll try to get some piccies Sunday!
 
Here's a quick picture of Dangermouse. I'm still not sure whether to keep or feed off the little darling, depends on how tame he/she gets, still too jumpy to check its sex

Yup, I name all the breeders. I treat them well and get fond of them before they 'retire'. I don't have so many at a time that I can't distinguish them or appreciate their quirks. I'm currently maintaining 4 pairs and finding the satins to be tamer and more handleable than my patched mice were, except this last litter of escape artistes. Unless DM tames soon he/she will be out of the breeding program but is so cute it may become a pet instead just for looks.
 
I'm having to 'retire' the ivory satin pair at 7 months. They started breeding late and only raised 1 litter. In contrast, their parents and 2 pairs of siblings are still producing large litters regular as clockwork.

Here are 3 of her litter, she dropped 3 spotted and 6 ivory (same as father), all satins. I can't tell about the long hair yet but since both parents were long haired I imagine they will all be long haired. I think they're about 10-11 days old here.

Did you buff those mice?! Adorable.
I've kept Dangermouse, and am going to pair him with a little satin girl when she's old enough, probably next week. There was a cat-in-the bedroom incident resulting in some tragedies. True to his name, Dangermouse survived but his brother Penfold did not. (the cat managed to knock down a couple of cages, in all 6 weanlings, Penfold and a breeding female, Star, were killed)
 
oh dear bad mouse. They are so cute I just have normal white and brown mice but Im getting a few black and brown ones now. I have also managed to get some fancy ones a black and white and a brown and white but not managed to get a litter yet she did have one last week but it was her first so not good found 2 dead and other 2 scattered all over so had to freeze them rather than let them all die. I have a white one in with them as well and she is currently pregnant due any day with her 2nd litter so hopefully will have better luck with this litter.

Well, really it's most likely 'bad teenager', Bob hasn't (as far as I know) got the ability to open my bedroom door and all 3 of my boys are denying any involvement. I keep the door shut at all times but wasn't at home at the time...
