Scale Rot

We have learned that one of our snakes has a mild case of scale rot...she's a snow and is starting to develop some dark areas along her belly and some of her sking is flaking off...you can hear her skin kind of "crinkle" as she moves. We were told to use some neosporin and we have also removed the bedding from her cage and replaced it with newspaper. Is there anything else that can be done to help treat it? Will it shed off or will it still be present after a shed? Thanks

My snake has a dry spot on her back that is still present after he last shed. Is this scale rot? I'd take a picture, but you can't see it, you can only feel it...it's right in the middle of her dark saddle...Sorry, this post got me thinking; I had just assumed it was dry skin or something.

The dryer bedding and neosporin should take care of things just fine. and Yes, the next shed most of it should be gone, and completely gone within two sheds if there were some left over.

Scale rot is presented with discoloration of brown on the scale area. A dry spot wouldnt be scale rot necesarily.
