I use Lemon Scented Palmolive w/bleach alternative, before and after I handle my snakes. But i remember hearing somewhere that a snakes sensative sence of smell can be bothered by these "smelly" soaps.Simon doesn't seem to mind so far,but I was wondering if anyone hand any input on this?:wavey:

I always wash my hands with the same soap before I handle my corn, I havent noticed it bothering him. The only thing I have noticed, is that if I let someone else handle him he always reaches back to me. Or if I am standing close he will slither towards me. I can only guess is that he is used to the smell of the soap and knows that I am the one who handles him 99% of the time.

I use a hand anti-bacterial soap..and have used the same brand since I first got Maize..Never noticed it ever effecting my snakes in a negative way..and this soap does have a strong but nice smell to it..:shrugs:

cool guys, thanks.I too have noticed that Simon calms down a bit when i lift his hide once he "smells" my hand:)
