Screen Housing for corn snake

Want to buy a corn snake and am considering this housing - Reptarium by Apogee - it is a screened enclosure with a PVC frame which it claims is an excellent habitat for climbing snakes.

Does anyone have any experience with this product? My main concern is adequate heat - can this unit really work well for snakes?

Is the whole thing all mesh?
I doubt that would work well for corns....
That doesn't look like it would hold heat OR humidity at ALL.
Also, I don't know what kind of bedding you use, but I know that if I used it, aspen pieces would be all over the place every day. And the snake would poop on the mesh for sure.
My advice is to stick with a glass tank or plastic tub.

hi

i heard that you have to use alot of heat lamps with the mesh cages i know there cheaper and you get alot more room but i would just stick wth glass tanks i think kasidee has one ask him aor her

I've never used mesh caging for corns, But I have used them for Veiled & jackson Chameleons... My thoughts are that they do not retain humidity or heat well at all...

I could also only assume that with enough pushing and "exploring" that a corn would be able to sooner or later push open the zipper on both sides of the mesh. I'd also assume that fecal matter/urine/substrate would all be something that would make its way through the mesh.

Thanks for all the replys

Thank you all for your advice with this matter. We have decided on a glass aquarium. We get the snake tomorrow or Tuesday so we are very excited ! It is a yearling "normal".

Thanks again!
