Someone here (who asked to remain anonymous) and I were chatting about some members here and they admitted to a secret of theirs. I joked around and said we all have secrets and we should make a postsecret.com like site for us here at the cornsnakes forums. They thought the idea was fabulous. So I thought, why not? And made a place for us to post secrets.

Everything is anonymous, and should be done in a fun sense, nothing harsh.

I hope everyone likes this idea. Please let me know if you have any concerns or ideas, or even if you like the idea.

Oh boy. I really just wanted this to be all fun and games, secrets that were good about this community (I respect these guys, I like this person, etc) or funny snake related ones (I actually saw I don't mind musk, I handle my snakes naked, etc) or just funny in general ones (I pick my nose, etc). I was happy when it started as some actually were very touching secrets about how this forum has made certain people feel welcomed, and that they truely love the people here.

I see where you guys are right and how it turned bad. I made it so no names were posted at all, and there were a few that I deleted. The one that was posted about JoeJr14, Joe himself actually told me to undelete it, so I honored his request. I never let any names through, but apparently, that wasn't needed for people to be mean.

I'm deleting it. Please don't PM me for the link.

Great idea, although I have not yet put anything up though, I dont like the idea of secrets lol, I really want to know who some of them are, especially the one who says they dislike someone on the forum, because I'm sooo nosy, maybe its me they dislike, or you, or anyone! ahhhhhhh!!!!!

I don't see how professing your dislike of someone anonymously being "brilliant". Cowardly more to the point...

Sorry to be the only person (thus far) that seems to think its a bit of a negative exercise?

Well Elle I have to agree with you. At first I thought it was cool, but since as you say it is cowardly to post a negative about someone unknown, not to mention the last time I looked someone had named a person directly. Not a good idea anymore, not to mention the profanity which is a strict "no no" on this forum.
 
Despite some nice "secrets" concerning me, I'm not sure that this is such a great idea. I would discourage anything like this in the future. This site's mods have no authority to moderate the contents of that site, but it's linked to this one both in content and by URL. This puts me and the mod team in an awkward position since it is already causing problems on THIS site.

I can't tell you to take down that site, Bronwen, but I'm removing the link from your opening post. Sorry. It was a fun idea, but...

If you (Bronwen) decide to oblige requests for the link via PM, email, or whatever, that's up to you.
 
I think its a good idea, its a way to get our bad feelings out of the way without causing a big fight.
 
It may not be causing arguments per say, but do you not think people now have thoughts in the back of their minds. IE a few people posted comments about disliking other members and ADMITED to being friendly in their presence.

I think some members will be on their guard and a little less relaxed to be honest, thus not being able to enjoy their time on cs.com. That is of course, if anybody takes it to heart.

Well Elle I know what you mean, because I'm a little leary to open my pm's at the moment. So do I take it to heart not anymore, until yesterday, but hey that's me. susan
 
i think its a good idea not in the sense of "didding" people, but if there is something you need to say emotionally but cant when people know who you are, it helps.

Bummer, sorry I missed the drama. Problem with starting something out to be "nice" is that there are always those that work to make them "bad". In the education field we call them sabotagers. :shrugs: I believe in karma. They'll eventually get theirs! :)

Don't be sorry, I'm sure no-one was really hurt by the comments on the site, I really think it was a great idea, however the idea only become a bad one to me when the comment (I dislike someone on the site) was posted, because that got me thinking, is that me? or who is it? and it really annoyed me lol, I think if you have a problem with someone on this site you pm them, you dont post on a secret site.
