Securing the Aquarium

So I'm still trying to convince my dad to let me get a corn, but one thing that I've been thinking about is making sure the viv is secure. I'm planning on getting a 33 gallon aquarium, and I was wondering how I might go about making sure that my snake could not get out. What sort of latches of stuff could I use? Also, if anyone could post some pictures that would be very helpful.

newt here, If you are planning on geting a newborn make sure that there is no way to the very top of the aquarium. Example no limbs that gives it a secure stepping ladder. Build a screen top for the 33 gallon. And Mohamad if this is you the snakes are pipping, they will be ready to go in less then a week.

my bad I just sent you a email and a private message sorry for the inconveniants. Cut 4 pcs of wood the right diameters of the top of the tank then cut your screen out then staple your screen to your lid make sure its secure. For extra protection you can place a rock on each end. If its a newborn then you wont have to worry about it prying the top of they arent that strong yet.

You dont need to latch it down just make sure that the lid is securely on the top.

Actually you can just buy these clip type things for your viv and attach those to your tank. they're pretty cheap and work great i haven't had an escape yet except when i was taking her to my pet store.( I was confused as to what size i should feed her)Any way you can probobly get em at your pet store. Oh and by the way when you finnaly convince your dad into lettiing you get the corn don't buy from the pet store. Try and find a breeder you can find out more about that snake from a breeder and know its genetic background.

Yeah, I'm planning on getting one from Simon, a breeder who posts on these forums, or another breeder at the Ontario Reptile Expo on Sept. 12, if we get go to it. Thanks for the info.

Kiesha Nore, were in Ontario are u? Im in Ottawa and I have 2 snow hatchlings for sale.

I'm near Toronto. I haven't yet decided what morph I want yet...at first I wanted a sunglow, but now I'm really starting to fall in love with them all lol. Plus, it is not even concrete that I will be getting one at all. Everything depends on whether my mother and I can convince my dad. He's been out of town for about two weeks though, so I haven't been able to talk to him about it.
