Self-Introduction & Construction plans.

Hello everyone. I've acquired a pair of corn snakes this week (will pick them up Saturday), but the previous owners have had them (Amel/Male/36" & Normal/Female/27") cohabbing in a 120gallon aquarium.
From reading on this forum, and because of my previous lack of experience with reptiles, I have decided to separate them after I pick them up. My original plan was to split the aquarium at the middle with a piece of plexiglas. But I have decided this is not a very good plan as they could probably get between it & the lid, and I do not have anything else to keep them in while installing it. So, I am going to build a snake cage from scratch instead. I already have all of my supplies except plexiglas for the doors/floors, so I should be able to have it nearly done before the weekend, and should be able to do the finishing touches over the weekend.
I'm going to use 5/8" plywood for the sides/shelves, pegboard in the back for ventilation, and I'll be lining the inside with plexiglas for the floors and "thrifty white" board for the walls/ceiling, both moisture resistant and easily cleaned. When finished, it will have living spaces for up to 3 snakes, each being about 18"x18"x48". The doors will be plexi with wood framing for structural support. I plan to put UTH pads under a 12"x12" ceramic or porcelain tile on one side in each living space for heat.
I believe this should work pretty well, but before I actually start construction, I wanted to get comments/suggestions, and make sure I don't do anything that could harm the snakes.
