Yup, Egyptian Spiny Micesumguy said:Are those spiney mice or something else?
They wanted $7.99 a piece for them, but I got the pair for $6.00. I have been doing business with this particular shop for at least 15 yrs. Plus they had tons of them and probably weren't selling very many. :cheers:Camille said:How much do those cost? heck im so tired of the mice i have, they stink something fierce like a DAY after i clean and i have no place to put them eccept for in my room
Yeah, they are a lot larger than domestics. My daughter wanted to use egyptian names for some reason. Shabaka was a Nubian, the first Ethiopian born Pharoh.JTGoff69 said:They are too cute, is it just me or are they larger than domestics? By the way you described their personalities, maybe CHEWbaka would have been a more appropriate name lol.
Pat, they do have sensitive tails and it is not recommended to pick them up by the tail. I have not had a problem doing it though. I was told that if a snake ate one of these backwards, it could cause a problem. I don't intend to let them get that big where the hair is too coarse. So far, these are just fantastic rodents, virtually odorless and extremely tame. The major drawback is the litter size. :cheers:Quigs said:Hey Mike,
I am curious. Are the Egyptian Spiny Mice one of the breeds that can not be picked up by the tail? I know some different species can slough off the skin of their tails super easy (ex. African Pygmy Mice).
On another note. Do you (or anyone else) know of any problems feeding EGM to snakes? It would certainly be a nice alternative for picky eaters!
Good luck with them!
