Hi guys,
Most of you here don't know that I'm an artist, but I'm currently enrolled in a freehand drawing class and the upcoming unit just so happens to be surrealism.
Dreams are great to turn to for surrealism ideas. I rarely dream (or at least remember my dreams), but one dream that has stood out to me is a dream I had about my snake probably about a year ago.
Long story short, the dream took place on a feeding day. I had a box that I opened and set down, and when I looked inside the box there laid, dead and spread out, the different generations of mice (that's the only way I can think to say it right now)--from pinkie to large adult.
When I removed my snake from his cage he was... decapitated. Just the head. He had about two inches of neck but beyond that he just..stopped. However, when I fed him an adult mouse he went right for it and started eating. I'm not sure how he managed it and I have no clue where the mouse went.
This specific dream has stood out to me for a long time now and I'm excited to express this concept. I've had a lot of experience with drawing snakes but this is a new take on it for me.
So, with no further ado:
While I am currently searching the forums and a variety of different resources (including my own snake, haha) for good pictures, I'd love it if you guys would like to share pictures of your own snakes eating.
Any kind of pictures you are willing to share I definitely want to look at. Show off your snake a little.
However, if you are curious or think you may have something that might directly help me, what I am looking for specifically is a side view of a snake eating, preferably with smaller prey or just at the beginning of the meal so that the throat is smaller than the jaws/head. This is for.. decapitation reasons. XD
Also, if you have good pictures of feeder mice, please share. The more references, the better. I don't care how ridiculous they are. I'm serious about my art and I refuse to start a piece like this without doing some serious homework.
If for whatever reason you would like to share but would prefer I not use your picture as a reference, please note this and I will respect your wishes.
I apologize for the length of this explanation and apologize for the lack of my own pictures as I am posting this in the photography forum. In my defense this seemed the best place to post this request and I do have some pictures that I may share later if this gets some responses.
Thank you guys so much for your time.
