She won't eat

Ok. I have a Ghost Motley Corn Snake and she is about a year old. It's been about 10 days since she (Tia Dalma:) ) has eaten. I know that she sometimes won't eat before a shed but she shed about a week ago. She didn't show any interest in her fuzzy's before or since her shed. I have tried two different mice just in case one had a scent she didn't like. She is in a glass aquarium and seems to be distracted as of late. She will seem interested in the mouse for a few minutes and then start rubbing her nose along the front of her tank like she's seeing a reflection. We covered the front of the aquarium up last night but that still hasn't helped. I was wondering if since it has gotten warmer the past few weeks if it's possible she's too hot to want to eat? We have a light on top of the cage that keeps it about 80 to 85 degrees during the day. I'm not too concerned at the moment but I do want to find out what some possible issues are. Thanks in advance!

I have a lot of snakes that are being weird about feeding, too. I wonder if it is the heat. Have you ever tried feeding her in a small container, with holes, and covering it up?
 
PS- the Florida members here are most likely planning a trip to the St. Augustine Alligator Farm on Sunday, July 5th. We'd love to have you join us! There will be a post in General Chit Chat announcing it. And we will also gather at the Tampa show two Saturdays from now.
 
No. We have always fed her in the aquarium. I'm not sure if I would be comfortable putting her in a smaller container with a mouse crawling around. She's already been bitten once...lol

Then maybe you should try pre-killed, or frozen/thaw? It's safer for her, anyway.. Especially if she's already been bit! You're just asking for trouble in the form of injuries and parasites when you feed live... Besides, feeding live, you should at LEAST stun the rodent... Ghost motleys are beautiful snakes. It would be an absolute shame if she ended up all kinds of scarred from a few defensive mice.

Have you consider that "she" may be a "he"? It is breeding season, after all.

It just occurred to me, too--how long ago was she bitten? She could be a bit prey-shy because of it... Another thing that would be solved by switching to DEAD mice!
 
She has eaten since she was bitten. We bought her from a breeder at a reptile show and he said that she was female. Unfortunately it's difficult to find a reptile vet around Orlando which I find strange. So we are taking his word on the sex.
