Sheba who couldn't fall in love with u?

Let's just say it's not a word you want to go around repeating to Koreans. You might run into some...problems.

sheba in South Africa

In south africa you get something like "pap and sheba" ...this would refer to a dish of corn flour cooked up into a stirdy goo , and then have the "sheba" over it ..it is a mix of tomato and onions gravy....

so lets see some cultural diversity .....
IN SA IT IS A DISH,.....what is it is korea ?

Your snake is a real beauty, Wheeler, and I should know cuz my baby snow (Willow) looks almost exactly like her! Okay, you guys, half of my family is Korean, but I hadn't heard this one before (maybe that shouldn't surprise me?). ;)

hey Ginny, I just read your post and noticed you were from MI as well, if you don't mind my asking which part? I am in Flint, but moving to Mt. Morris next month. Always nice to meet someone from the same state with corns....

Ken

Yeah, you don't see very many Michigan people here. I'm over on the other side, near Holland. I fell in love with cornsnakes when a presenter from the Organization for Bat Conservation brought his own cornsnake (a rescued one) to a program for teens that I had arranged at our library. I had never seen one before that! I started asking so many questions about keeping snakes that soon all the kids were staring at me. Since then, I've heard, "I never figured you for a snake person" at least a dozen times. And then there's that look ... well, I'm sure we all know THE LOOK. I guess I don't fit the profile! LOL

oh yes Holland, very nice place. I have a cousin in Grand Rapids and an aunt and uncle from Newago. And yeah I know the LOOK, I get that all the time too, and the "you have what at your house?" question, oh well to each their own. Myself I have had 4 corns for a few months but I have like 5 more on order actually i'm getting a amel motley tomorrow. Can't wait for that!! he will be #5 in my collection. Anyway it is back to work for me...Although now I am pondering the "snake profile" I wonder what people picture in their heads when they think of a person who has snakes? I myself am the normal clean cut guy tht wears polo shirts and dress pants. I wonder if that is in the "snake profile" oh well, guess we will never know

Since I have two teenagers, people always say "you mean it's YOUR snake, not your son's?" I think most people have a profile of young, male, and maybe a little wild? Although more people are being educated about reptiles now, and I plan on taking my snake(s?) into our schools when she's bigger to further that education. But there will always be a few who think snakes are evil  Hopefully, we can all change that. As you can see, I'm already thinking about getting another one. My family says I'm obsessed, but hey, it's a good obsession!

well I guess that profile is pretty much me. Well kinda young (27), yup male too, and a bit wild on the weekends;) My son loves the snakes he is 3. My corns are still small but he likes to hold them, his favorite is Mr. Slithers my ball python. He could sit and hold him all day long. good luck on getting your new one, any idea what morph you want yet? less than 12 hours and my amel motley will be here, oh I am like a little kid or big kid even waiting for x-mas to come....

SNAKES ARE COMING...

snakes are coming to my house next week and i'm already on pins and needles...and they're not even mine. they are simons though and i may be able to hold them ransom unless he tells us what "sheba" means... (hehe..chuckle chuckle) ;) .....
by the way wheeler beautiful snow. :)---jim
roachman that pap and sheba doesn't sound too good... did you say "sturdy goo"? like oatmeal? ewwwww..;)

jim,

HEY!!!!
you are not going to keep my corn snakes!!!!! I have 20 snakes coming for you. If any one of them is missing, I'll be coming after you. Remember....I have your address....LOL.......

I can't tell.......I am not a Korean....So really....a Korean should say something....or not if not preferred....LOL......

Great pics, Jim - beautiful snakes! It's fun to see Wheeler's baby snow and your more mature one for comparison. I'm thinking of getting an amel, (like Jim's "Helios"!) or maybe a sunglow or creamsicle next. It will be a couple of months yet. Ken, has your motley finally arrived?? Maybe you can post some photos.

I don't know what the word actually means...

...but if you ever meet a Korean, you probably shouldn't start yelling "shebal." ("Sheba," according to my rather limited knowledge of Korean vocabulary, doesn't mean anything.) It's generally used as a curse word I think. My dad has slipped and used it one time or another when he was raging mad.
Are your curiosities satisfied now?? NO, I'm NOT going to go and ask my mom what the exact definition is.
