My snake shed last night,,perfect one piece shed.I measure the shed,,just laid out flat,no stretching.How accurate is this method ?
 
Sheds average about 10% longer than your snakes actual length. The serpwidgets program is much more accurate.
 
By eye balling my snake,I would have to say the shed is a few inches longer,but not 1 to 1.5 times longer :eek1: How would the shed skin measure almost double the length of snake who had it on ?? :shrugs:
 
I've never had a shed 1 1/2 times longer either. About as you said, a few inches (or 10%) longer.

The shed probably was not that long but I was just stating that it was bigger. Sorry for any confusion.
