I'm sorry to have to ask...my book from Kathy is on the slow boat between CA and FL and back again.

Legoless was (I imagine) what you'd call "high blue"- - we've had the occluded eyecaps, and they're now clear - - last night. He still hasn't shed. This past week, I've dampened the Forest Bed substrate, had him slithering through damp paper-toweling, and bathed him (which he does NOT care for in the least! We shan't be repeating THAT!). No shed yet. At what point do I consider intervention beyond what I've done? :shrugs: The last shed happened so fast I didn't even get to think about it! He ate on Sunday, and shed on Tuesday.... This time, I know what's going on, and it's taking a lot longer.

The more you know...the more you doubt yourself!! ;) Thanks in advance!!
 
Never mind the previous...and I just had the BEST experience! I took Legoless out of the viv and was letting him crawl around on me while I was reading the forum. He was getting cool, so he crawled down the neck of my flannel nightgown. While he was slithering about, I started hearing a funny "crinkling" sound and looked to see what was up. Well...there's Legoless starting down my shoulder with his shed unfurling as he went. How cool is that?? 100% complete and he's much happier now! I got to watch AND be part of the process...I'm so jazzed!
 
My Okeetee shed last night while I was watching. I don't really do anything special (no misting or soaking or anything like that), but I was beginning to wonder when he would shed, since it was already 4 or 5 days after he was in a blue phase. He shed all in one piece, in about 5 minutes. I used to wonder how long it took to shed, never having seen it before. He 'begged' for food shortly after he finished shedding, and I fed him a little later, when I went to sleep.
 
I have one that I have trouble with shedding. I will mist the enclosure too get the humidity up. Then she will shed just fine. The others seem to take baths so there are no problems with them. Glad it all turned out ok and it is neat to see them shed. :wavey:
