ok guys, call me a dork, but i had no idea my sons corn was about to shed. Its about 4-5 wks old and this AM he/she shed. I have been handeling it al ot the last few days. Was that ok? Am I suppose to handle right after or leave alone?? Im confused/

It's ok that you handeled your sons snake after the shed. I wouldn't do it during the shed though, it'll get stressed out and than possibly a bad shed.

ok

well it was a perfect shed thank goodness. I had no idea that it was about to shed. wow.. so its ok to handle it now?

Yeah sure, I just wouldn't do it like RIGHT when your snake shed. It might get adjetated and be all "spazzy". I wait at least, 2 hours if any to hold him. Yeah go ahead, it isn't really bad if you hold him right after a shed.

FWIW...my snakes don't mind being handled during the blue phase one bit. I try to minimize handling when they are blue, but they still get handled and I've never had a bad shed. In fact, my corn, Sammi Snake, will go so far as to use my palm to break the skin when she is ready to shed. Every snake is different, but if you'rs seems to not be bothered, I wouldn't worry about. Some get really aggressive when they are blue, some simply don't mind...

LOL, neither does mine (or my Eastern King, for that matter). In fact, I don't skip a feeding when either of them are in blue. Both are just as hungry when in blue and I've never had a problem.

i dont really do anything when mine comes up for a shed... except after her eyes have cleared i dont handle her for a few days and then after she has shed its all back to normal :p

except she hasnt quite got the idea of how to shed, i normaly have to help her along in a big bath, which she loves, she swims around and dives and everything. haha
