we finally fed my cornsnake!! we slit its head and it went right for it..

the next day, it started to shed already.. isnt it supposed to be like.. it'll refuse food when its getting ready to shed?

:shrugs:

No, not all snakes refuse food during shed. I have two that will eat and get back in viv and shed. I have one that will eat when blue but I have to dangle the food in front of her because she can't see it. So yours is perfectly normal.

I fed two blue snakes this week, and both ate. If I _know_ they are blue, I'll skip them, though. These guys, I guess I suspected they were blue, but didn't know, hadn't seen them, but it's their first time blue with me, so I thought I'd just try, since I dug them out and they were blue and I had the food thawed.

As said above, some do, some don't. I think it depends on how hungry it is and how comfortable it feels. I have a couple that will eat in blue, but not during the clear phase between blue and the shed.

I have 4 for sure who will eat while in blue -- and I think they do it because usually not a day later, they'll shed...I almost think that it gives them the final "boost" that they need to get the job done. :)

ohh.. i see. thank you guys!!

but also, can you handle your snake while its shedding.. or do you have to wait till its done??

:shrugs:

Glad your little one ate. One of my corns will eat when blue, if they want it give it to them. When your snake is sheading i would personally leave him/her alone. The only time i intervene is if i can see them struggling . Pay close attention to the tip of the tail, i often find a little unshed skin.
