:: Bob - My Amel ::
We bought Bob on 17th October (he was about 11 weeks old), and since then we've fed him 5 times. He hasn't shed yet....I'm checking him every day for signs, but nothing!

I'm sure he must be due sometime soon, or is it just me??

ps

PS: The greedy pig ate four pinkes on Sunday! We're going to move onto peach fuzzies but wanted to use up what's left in the freezer first......tighter than a gnats arse or what lol

he ate four...

pinkies during one meal?! wow! i usually only gave my snake one pinkie every four days when he was that young. it seems like an awful lot, i would suggest no more than two pinkies or one peach fuzzie.

as for shedding...do you know when the last time he shed was while still with the breeder? if he's been eating that much and you've had him for almost a month i would say that within two weeks you should see a fresh new skin on your little guy.

greedy bob

Hi again Norbert! He ate four because Bodget gave him four. He was eating one every 5 days when we got him but looked like he was rooting for more (I posted about this) so I upped it to three as they really were the smallest pinkies you'd ever seen. Even after the three he didn't settle, he was out and about the viv looking for more, so the last feed he had four.

To be honest, I should have called trading standards as they were so underdeveloped they had less than stumps for legs!!!

with regards to

the breeders shedding record, Bob came from a shop and since we were such noobs we couldn't wait to get him home and didn't ask much........

hehe...some might...

disagree with me about the feeding, i'm not sure. i've been told my snake is underfed before so it's clear that opinions vary on how often how much food you offer a snake. if these pinkies had no legs, lol and were as small as you say then giving your guy more was probably fine.

i didn't ask much when i got mine snake, too. i get excited very easily and forget everything i had intended to bring up. oh well, yea, i'm sure the little one will shed before the month's end.

I'm sure that after eating 4 pinks in one sitting the shedding will be coming very soon. Not to mention a heck of a pile of poop.

:eek1:

....Yes, quite a nice pile of ****e that he decided to strew about the viv since Sunday, oh and the huge splat on Bodget he did about an hour ago ha ha pmsl

he shed

this morning sometime, I founs it in his viv on my way to work. The shed was missing the tail end so when I got back we used water and a flannel to get the rest off easy. He's all bright-eyed and bushy tailed to go now )
