Shedding + feeding

Phoenix has been hiding quite a bit the last couple of days, and today I noticed that his eyes are cloudy. I tried feeding him a couple of days ago and he wouldn't - at that time I didn't notice cloudiness, so I'm not sure if he refused to eat because he was starting a shed cycle or if it was because he was scared/stressed. What I'm wondering is if I should try to feed him tonight just to see if he'll take it, or if it's just not worth it? I know corns often won't take food while in shed, but sometimes they will. (And if you think I should try: should I wait until he clears up + is out of blue, or should I just try now?)

I'd wait until he sheds. Shedding is somewhat stressful itself. Now that his eyes are glazed over, it will only be a few days until he sheds. I'd be willing to bet he refused to eat the other day because of this, and if you try to feed him now he will probably refuse again. So why not wait? It won't hurt to wait a while.

Okay, thanks! I thought it took longer for them to shed after they went into blue but maybe I'm thinking of something else. I'll leave him be until he sheds.

all snakes and all sheds are a bit different, but generally speaking, once they go "Blue" they usually stay that way about 1 to 4 days. Then their eyes will clear up. When their eyes clear up they usually shed several days after that. So just guessing, I'd say your snake will actually shed in the next 3 to 7 days.
