Shedding issue

Ruderacer

So Cal Snake Addict
One of our corns(Redd) has not shed for some time now and we are starting to get concerned. He has not gone blue and just little bits of random skin flakes off now and then, only about the size of a scale. Should I be worried or will he shed when he is ready?

How long has it been since his previous shed? Is he eating appropriately sized feed? Are you weighing him at all?

It's been about 2 months since his last shed. He is eating fine and on a regular schedule (once a week). We have not weighed him, but his size is comparable to our other two year old. He is a very healthy looking/acting snake.

I have heard of snakes shedding from every 6 weeks to only a few times a year so maybe hes just growing a little slower. Maybe someone else whos more experienced can help you, but Id say as long as hes eating and your not seeing any regurges, hes alright. Just be on the lookout cause eventually hell go into blue.

You say he flakes, is it the result of a previous poor shed? Maybe you could soak him in warm water and see if you can gently work some of it off......Ive never seen my snakes "flake" before
