Shedding predicament

My corn Brotha has been finished shedding for a couple days but he still has some old skin on the top of him and some on the sides. I know on the tail if old skin doesn't come off it can kill that part of the tail, can anything happen to the skin that he still has some old skin on? all information would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

has he got a rough surface in the tank to help him shed, if not that may be the problem.

if he has then check your humidity and temperature that could also be a problem... also how often do you feed him?

hes got plenty of rough stuff to help him, the temps are right but his tank is custom made so its a little harder to keep the hum. up. I feed him every 5 days

Hey Jay, Get a terry cloth towel from the kitchen and wet it, room temps and let your snake crawl through it holding everything towel and snake and try to help rub off too. But let the snake get damp for a bit first, then help him out.
Try to buy a hydrometer to read humidity level. they should be about 40- 50% during shed cycles. You could also make a humid hide or mist your cage.

Good Luck

Don't worry too much. If the old skin isn't constricting anywhere, it likely won't be a problem. To help it come off, do what Lenny recommended. I'd give it a good soak first, to help moisten the old skin before trying to rub it off. The way I do it is to get my sterlite feeding container, fold up a towel in the bottom, and fill the container with barely warm water just until it covers the towel. Then I put it on a human heating pad set to low, and watch it carefully so it doesn't get too hot. Let the snake soak for about 30-45 minutes, then let the snake crawl through the damp towel. It usually works like a charm.

If it doesn't, the skin will likely come off with the next shed anyway.
