Shedding Problem?

A few days ago, my snake seemed dull and like he was about to shed. But I came home from a camping trip today, and he looked completely normal. There's no shed, and his skin looks normal and his eyes are clear. Could there be another reason he looked dull?
 
This is called clearing! A snake will be dull for a week or so, then clear up for a day or two and shed. Expect a shed soon!
 
One of the things I do for our snakes once they are in the clear stage so to speak, is I'll turn on a small humidifier and let that run near his tank; works like a charm for easy shedding.
