shedding query

hi everyone
im pretty new to this ive only owned my corn snake for a few weeks, she's 6 months old and has started to shed her skin, i noticed her colour had faded then around 5 days ago her head shed perfectly but now the old skin just down from her head is frayed and the rest of her has not shed yet.
How long do they take to shed and is there anything i can do to help?
cheers
Alan

If it's been five days since her skin actually started to come off you need to do something ASAP before that skin gets stuck to her.
I recommend taking her out as soon as possible and making a warm water bath to soak in for at least 30 minutes then letting her run through your hands in a wash cloth.
Once the skin peels it shouldn't take more than an hour unless there are difficulties like your snake apparently had.

all sorted!!

thank you
took her straight out and gave her a warm bath, within 15 mins her skin started to peel back and as i lightly held her she pulled herself out and shedded in nearly one peice:dancer:
thank you again
Alan

Awesome! Glad to hear it.
For the next time you can try raising the humidity in your snakes tank by misting when you know she's getting ready to shed, placing a dish of water over the warm side, or making her a hide with moist papertowels in it.
