hey there, ive had my corn near on 2 months now, and as previous pictures have shown, shes a bright orange colour... now, i looked in on her yesterday and noticed that a patch on her head was slightly pale, and today being feed day, wen ive got her out the whole of her was a pale-like orange, does this mean shes shedding or should i be worried? the reason for my concern is, above all, im a newbie to all this and dont wanna make any mistakes or do something wrong! she is only around 8-9 months old and has shed before (have the skin to prove as the shop owner passed it on) any help & advice would be very welcome :D

Yip, it sounds like she has just gone into the blue, which is what we call snakes being in before they shed. She should shed in about 10 -14 days time.

Yup. Is amazing how fast they get dull. freaked me out the first time! Nice pretty corn one day. checked the next night and bam lol. yup about 10-14 days to go.

Beware that immediately before she sheds, she'll go back to her usual colour. This can be a real concern the first time it happens as it looks like they've already shed but the shed can't be found. That's perfectly normal as well (the colour change and the concern!).

Just wanted to add that once your snake goes "clear" again, it will usually shed within 48 hours or so. Mine used to shed in 24 hours but now is closer to 40-48.
