Shedding...

It's a 2003 cb hatchling and it's about 17 inches or so. Here's a pic.

your picture made me curious. I got my amel 1 week ago today at a herp show and didn't think to ask the age. If yours is about 17 inches I'd guess mine to be between 12-15". Any guesses on how old?

Also, can I hold him daily and not stress him out or should it be less frequent?

Your snake woul of prob been born in 2003. If you have only had your snake for a week, I would let it rest and get used to its viv for a could more days and not handle it. After that it should be fine to hold your snake each day for 5min.

Thanx Alex. I picked that tip up the day after I got him and left him alone for the next 5 days. You say he was probably born in 2003, aproximately what month? As a rule, are they usually born in the Spring?

They ae usual born from mid spring to late summer. Its hard to tell you what month you snake was born in because all snakes grow at different rates. Bu mabey someone else could help you out there.

Cheers
Alex

Alex is right - due to the fact that snakes grow at different rates, even within the same species, depending on metabolic rate, frequency of feeding, quality of food etc.. there is really no way to work out what month it was hatched in. Yiou would have to ask the breeders.
