How long after the eyes clear up can I expect a shed? First time for me! Also when the eyes clear up is it still hard for them to see still? Went to put in a rock to help along with the shed incase the driftwood isn't enough and boy was her tail vibrating.
A sucessful shed, well with a little help from me. The moss box didn't work to well had to soak the tail and help peel it off. And yes the vibrating sound is very cool never expected that so it threw me off guard.
How do you know when he is about to shed? My friend (who also got snakes) said that he is about to shed, but nothing has happened yet. This is my first corn snake so it is all new for me.

Well he gets a blue sheen over his eyes.. hense the phrase "in blue".. and you will see his colors are duller... and he might even stop eating.. some snakes don't eat while "in blue".. that's considered normal.
He might be a bit more irritable than normal... sometimes it's because they can't see with the skin coming away from their eyes.. and the blue sheen obscuring their vision. They might even strike at you because they can't see well so don't be surprised if he does that.
And sometimes you can even see places on him that is already trying to lift away from his body... and the skin on your fingers sometimes snag on him...
all the above is a pretty strong indication that he will be skinning within a few days..
I've never seen my corn rattle his tail. He's so meek...
Keep those moisture levels up when they are in the blue. I spray with a mist bottle every day around that time, maintaining humidity levels between 40-60%, as opposed to 20-30% usually.
