Misting the cage or putting in some moist moss will aid the shedding process, but 9 times out of 10 they dont have a problem. In terms of after the shed, if your snake refused food during the blue stage, which is common it will welcome a nice mouse once it has shed. You should give it a once over to make sure it shed fully, sometimes the skin from the tip of the tail or random patches along the body do not come off and if left will go hard and may cause a problem (bacterial growth between the new and old lyers of skin etc), if this happens it can usually be removed with ease, by soaking the snake in water for 10 mins or so and then letting it crawl between a rough towel untill the skin is all off, you may repeat this process if necessary. See Kathy Loves Corn Snake Manual ( It's Brill). I'm not sure if thats the kind of stuff you wanted to know, if not let me know and I will help if I can.
