Shedding

How often do corns shed I keep looking at my corns eyes no sign of blue he last shed on 21/9??????
Corns shed for basically 3 reasons:
1) They're growing
2) They have an injury/irration/parasite
3) Old skin just wears out.

Young'uns obviously are growing quickly so a shed every 3-4 weeks is common. Old, barely growing ones might only shed 2-3 times a year.

If you have an older one that seems to be shedding very frequently, it might be a sign that something's goin on that needs attention.

There's fairly predictable sheds associated with the whole brumation/breeding process, too.

I wouldn't worry, if its an adult that is quite normal. Sometimes even young corns seem to not shed for a while longer than usual for no apparent reason. Its only when they go into blue and then can't seem to shed that you need to interfere in any way.

Beanie :)
