shedding

I just got my corn snake a couple of weeks ago. I fed her like normal, but this time i noticed she has been hiding a lot longer then she usually does. Her schedule has been after 2 days she out climbing around the viv. Well i seen her out of her hide and took her out to play, i noticed she has turned blue this is my first shed experience. I put her back in her viv. My question is should i leave her along until she sheds or is it okey to hold her when she is in blue. And can i feed her during this period her next meal isn't until monday but she might be in the middle of a shed then.

a lot of snakes eat during their blue phase. Just be prepared for a lot of "blind" strikes because the snake doesn't see very well during this time.

is it normal for them to hide a lot more during this time. I haven't seen her up in the tree since she turned blue. She's been hiding in her two favorite spots.

My snake changes a lot during her shed period. She stays in her tube-hide almost all of the time when normally she is out and roaming her viv or hanging near the cool side. She also will not eat until she sheds, I've tried.
You have to find out how your snake is going to be. She might eat, she might be active during her shed, or she might not.

My snake is like Alan's snake. He goes into blue and goes into his rock or under his substrate and stays there (once for almost 3 weeks) then he comes out and will either eat and shed, or last time he shed as I was preparing his mouse.

I guess what I am saying is follow your snake's lead. If she is cranky she will let you know. I *think* I read that they are rather uncomfortable as they prepare to shed?

My snake ate just fine after he was in blue. Did'nt seem to bother his feeding one bit and plus I'm sure they need all the energy they can while theyre shedding as it is known to be uncomfortable and a bit of a stressful time for your snake.

Very normal for a snake to hide at this time. They can be a bit grumpy, too. Probably because she is a bit blind. I would hold off on feeding, also.

I love when they shed! They look so brilliant when the process is done. Especially the baby amels, their colors just about pop!!
