Just wanted to let ya'll know she's doing better. Hasn't ate yet and in the short time I've had this snake, She's had to be soaked 3 times to remove old shed. Her scales look so much better and not dull anymore. Some of the scars look better too. She's very active now and no longer laying belly up. She feels firmer to the touch now. She was kind of squishy. Tomorrow's feeding day for all my others and I'll give her a try...I hope she eats.
 
I haven't given her one yet, I'm teasing her right now. After I got home with mice I had to leave again. To keep my cats from getting them, I put the critter box full of mice in her cage. She finally came out of hiding and was checking them out. Maybe after smelling them for awhile, she'll be ready.
My hubby's almost home so we'll feed everyone when he gets here. He has to get his butterscotch female out. She got a bad attitude after having eggs last year. She'll bite me and not let go...I don't like getting her out.
 
She's still with the mouse and I covered the feeding box with a towel. I guess, I take it out soon and try again in a few days.

Here she is....I finally took a picture of her today now that she looks much better.

She's only ate 1 mouse. She has shed 2 more times since I first posted. I've had her for a month and she's shed 6 times. I find that really wierd. The very first one I helped her to get off had 3 more under it. I still have to help her out b/c she can't get it off in one or two pieces...it's comes off in many tiny pieces. The shed last night came off in one piece. Is this normal in a snake that hasn't been taken care of?
Other than not eating anymore, I think she's doing better. Atleast, she looks better.
 
It's good news the shed came of in one piece :) Sounds like a good healthy shed. Good temperaturus and good humidity.

I wouldn't worry about the feeding yet. She ate one and that's really good. She can live a while on that. Just keep offering her one every one in a while. But not to often. That may stress her into not eating.

It's normal for a snake with injuries to shed frequently - it's part of the healing process. The previous partial sheds would certainly have been down to the fact that she was run down and poorly looked after. That she's now shed in one piece is a very good sign and a credit to the care you've given her.

I am new here and was reading this thread and saw two pics of a lovely snake of yours. It sounds like something was wrong with her. She is white with red splotches.
I just visited your website but didn't see her there. Is she ok and what type of corn is she? Thanks, Linda L

Thank you for asking. My girl is doing OK. She has been treated for the protozoal intestinal parasite she had, and is recovering nicely. Ths only problem I've run across now is that she has decided to become a picky eater! She prefers live pinks or fuzzies. She is too big to be eating them, though :) She has to eat several before she has had enough!
