I was cleaning cages today and when i went to put one of the females back in she was acting really weird. She was lying on her side and moving her mouth in a slow chewing motion and her eyes were bulged out a little bit. I picked her up and she seemed to wake up a bit so i put her in a little cage by her self and she seems to be better but shes still seems to be breathing a little hard. She had babies along with another female that was in the cage with her but they were ok with just the other female for now i think(they are older). I was just curious if anyone had any idea about what could be wrong? Ive also noticed shes a little thinner than the other female and shes started to get a little bit of a hunched back and the last female mouse that happened to died and neither are very old.
Could it have something to do with red dye in dog food? They had gotten some of that recently before i had found about the problems with that stuff.
