Crazy Critter Lady
I'm a little concerned about my anery female, Shade. Her first clutch just hatched. She ate on Sunday, I had missed her going blue and she shed on Tuesday. Well, she only ate half her meal. She has been a touch thin since she laid and was eating like a piglet. I had been givine her 2 hopper or a hopper and a weanling, sunday she only at the hopper. So I decided to offer her another mouse today since she was being VERY active and she is ignoring it and creeping along her cage, almost like she did before she laid her first clutch. I felt along her length but I am not sure if I feel eggs or not. Other than the increase in activity and decreased appetite, what should I watch for in the case of a natural double clutch? She just got back over 200 grams. I'm terrified I will lose her if she doubles on her own. . .I would not have bred her had I known it would take so much out of her. The female that laid for me last year did not lose so much weight and condition as Shade did this year, but she also had much smaller eggs. . .
