My little guy is going through a lot right now, with his new home, the mites, and the treatment for them. What would be some signs of stress? He ate and he is out in the open sitting over the UTH, in the warm end (wich is around 85... cool end is about 77) are those good temps? And at night he just sits out in the open right in the middle of the tank (his tank sucks because of the cardboard housing and just a water dish on paper towel for the treatment).

What would be some signs of stress? Are those signs of stress? He hasn't regurgitated his food or anything he is fairly active for how limited his enclosure is (nothing to do in it).
 
the fact that he is basking, and eating normally without regurgitating shows that you are doing ok here. Have you got hides (even if they are only cardboard) at both the warm end and the cool end?

I would just keep a careful watch for anything unusual, but otherwise don't worry too much.

Just finished another box of cereal off, so I can make him a new hide :p... so far no sign of mites! that's good right? :cheers:

Also.. he doesn't seem to use his hides much... the one hide is right up against the glass... he kinda pushes him self between the glass and the hide... is that normal behavior?
 
yep - no sign of mites is a good thing :) , but be vigilant for a while - they are tricky things to eliminate - lots of good threads about them on the site if you want to read more do a search

to feel secure, a snake appears to like to being able to feel walls/edges against its skin. A snake will often cram into a tight visible place rather then lie out "exposed" in a spacious hide. Hence - make hides that you think would be rather too small and tight by your standards, and the chances are that your snake will prefer them.

all right, I will make my next box hide a small one.. i'm going to take some pics of my new guy.. hehe you can see his meal from lastnight :p
