ok im kind of new to corns so here goes, i got a 5 year old female in october last year (06) she has not been with a male while ive had her so heres my question
can they have eggs without being mated as she looks gravid she has been getting bigger over the last 2 ish weeks

Hiya. The short answer is yes.

They can lay clutches of infertile eggs - referred to as "slugs".

I expect your gal is ovulating - this is when the ova are preparing to be fertilised. Usually, if they're not mated, the ova will not form eggs and will just be reabsorbed. At that point, she'll go back to looking normal again.

Occasionally, they actually develop into eggs and be laid as a clutch of slugs.

ok heres a update for you, checked her yestoday and i can clealy see about 10 eggs in her and she is in her pre lay shed so ive put a laying box in her viv and left her alone dont want to stress her, (mad rush to build a Incubator)

Was she with a male last year, before you got her? If so she could have retained sperm and lay some fertile eggs, but I'm not sure how long sperm can be retained

she was with a snow corn when i got her but i dont know the sex of it. ive been speaking to someone on another rorum and they can retane sperm for sevral years. she is in her blue fase now so ill find out soon if they are fertile. i built an incubator just in case
