My snake sev is normally very happy to be handled but yesterday and today wasnt going to let me touch him, his skin looks a bit dry but ive been waiting for his eyes to go misty. Only thing is he has red eyes and i havent noticed them being misty. He made a sound like a rattle snake today and was adamant he wasnt to be handled! since the shop i got him from didnt seem to know how old he was or when he had shed would i be right in presuming he may be building up for one(bearing in mind he still ate his 2 pinkeys today no bother) appreciate the help.:shrugs:

He could be. It's tough to say for sure, but a few of mine get more feisty around shed times. My first snake was a snow (had red eyes) and I completely missed the first time her eyes went opaque. It's not as easy to see with red eyes, but before long you'll probably be able to spot it quite easily. I would recommend just making sure the humidity is good to facilitate shedding if he is going to do so. Other than that, I wouldn't worry too much. He may have just been really hungry or having a nice snooze that was interrupted :)

Just watch his eyes you will learn soon enough what it looks like when they go into blue I have two amels with red eyes its almost impossible to tell when they go into blue then I have my normal that his eyes go from black to almost white so he is easy.
