Does anybody know where I might find an average "size guide" (relating to the age) of healthy and correctly fed corns?

I've just recently picked up a pair of Hypomelanistic corns at the Daytona show (sorry if I beat you on those in the auction, heh).

So, I'm pretty new to corns, and just trying to find out some more lil bits of info :)

I'll post up pics when I get 'em near the camera.

Right now the two (about 12-14" long) are housed in a 20g long. Paper towel substrate with a water bowl and some logs to hide in/under til I can sort out a more natural setting.

They've not eaten since I've gotten them, and with getting them in the auction, I'm not 100% sure what/when they've already eaten (couldn't find out who actually donated them to the auction so was unable to establish these details).

I got a lot of good useful information from Becky from Renegade Reptiles at the Daytona show, she was a big help with answering some of my more n00bish questions :)

Also, are frozen (and obviously defrosted) pinkies as good as live for them? The girlfriend has a BIG problem with me feeding them live rodents, and if she finds out I've done so, they're straight out the door (promptly followed by myself, heh).

I'm afraid that there is no ideal size for corns as the size of these snakes varies with which part of the country they are from and different keepers feed their snakes in different ways. Some people feed hatchlings just once every two weeks and some feed them three or four items every week. Because of this, their can't really be a 'size guide'

Okies, well, that's cool... these guys are about 12-14" or so at the moment (maybe a tiny lil bit bigger), so still plenty of growing left either way :)
 
Frozen/thawed mice are great for corns. They're actually a lot safer than feeding live. I recommend you feed f/t, regardless of your girlfriend's opinion on the subject. :)

Yeah, like Kate said, f/t mice a so much safer to feed because they can't injure your snake. They're also easier to get hold of unless you breed your own. Most keepers will agree that frozen mice are the best.
 
Not only are F/T safer (even though pinkys and fuzzys cant really hurt your snake) but they are alot cheaper if you buy them in bulk! it would cost you about $1.50 for a pinky that was live but if you buy them on the internet from Rodent Pro:

then you can get them for about 18cents! thats a huge diffrence especially if your housing 1000 corns (not that I am talk to Rich about that one!)
 
hey, if I was feeding a thousand, I'd be breeding my own mice, lol... hiding them from the girlfriend of course, hehe.

With only having two corns, and a fairly small freezer, I've found a place that's almost local that does 25 for $7.50. With 'em being pretty close, the shipping shouldn't be a lot either.

Shipping, that's where they get ya. You spend $20 on frozen pinkies, and it costs $25 to ship 'em, lol.
