Size of vivarium

How big would a vivarium have to be for a young Corn?

feet?

I think many people here keep small snakes in a ten gallon tank. I kept mine in 1.5 x 0.75 foot vivs. When they reached two feet they graduated to 3 x 1.5 foot vivs and many people use 20-30 gallon tanks.

So a 3ft vivarium would hold 2 young corns for 2 years?

It probably would, depending on the rate of growth of the snakes as most corns will reach more than three feet in two years (one of mine is two years old now and 40 inches long). It's also not advised to keep multiple corns in the same viv as this makes monitoring their health difficult and if the animals have been wrongly sexed (which happens more often than one might think, especially if bought from a pet shop) then premature breeding may occur which could harm or even kill the female. Similarly, two males housed together could fight and snakes of either gender may become quite nervous when housed with others as they are solitary animals. You could buy large plastic lunch boxes or similar, drill some air holes in them and keep the snakes in these until you can get two separate vivs. That might be best.

babys can be housed in a ten gallon. then as they get longer the can live in a 20 gallon there whole life.although i would rather go wiht a 30 gallon for more room when the snake get bigger.
