Hey Penguin, yes I do probe and pop when the need is there. However, I only do it on my own snakes as I don't want to take the responsibility for correctly sexing other peoples snakes. Either take it to a vet who knows about snakes - I can recommend a good snake vet in Lenexa if you ever need one, or just wait until it grows larger and most of us will be able to tell you by looking at a good picture of the tail.
